North Bengal reported its first confirmed COVID-19 positive case late in the night on March 28 as the number of total positive cases in West Bengal rose to 18. A 54-year-old woman of Gorubathan in Kalimpong district was found positive on March 28 night.
She was diagnosed by NICED on Saturday night. She was admitted since March 26 at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in Siliguri. She has now been shifted to a special isolation ward.
West Bengal has already recorded a death due to COVID-19.
