Northeast girls shine at Femina Miss India 2017; win 5 sub-titles
The supergirls from Northeast, participating at the FBB Colors Femina Miss India 2017, brought cheer to the region as they won as many as 5 sub-titles. Arunachal Pradesh beauty Licha Thosum won hearts with her national costume as she was declared the winner of the Best National Costume sub-title.
Miss Mizoram Rody H. Vanlalhriatpuii won two sub-titles at the gala event as she was adjudged the winner of Miss Popular and Miss Talented sub-titles.
Bringing laurels to the entire Northeast, Miss Tripura Rinky Chakma won the Miss Congeniality sub-title.
It was a proud moment for Assam as well, with Miss Assam Triveni Barman winning the Miss Beautiful Skin sub-title at Fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2017. Triveni Barman was presented the award by Femina Miss India 2016 Priyadarshini Chatterjee, who also belongs to Assam. Interestingly, another Assam beauty Rajkanya Baruah won the same sub-title last season.
Making Arunachal Pradesh and Northeast proud, the beautiful national costume for Licha Thosum was designed by popular fashion designer from Arunachal Pradesh Nabam Aka. Licha Thosum’s stage presence, with hues of Northeast on her National dress, was impeccable.
Licha was the first runner-up at the Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2016 while Miss Tripura Rinky Chakma was the first runner-up at the 2015 edition of the Sunsilk Mega Miss North East.
