NorthEast United FC retained the services of goalkeeper Rehenesh TP and midfielder Rowllin Borges ahead of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2017 season.

The Guwahati-based club choose to continue with the association with Rehenesh TP, who has been a part of the John Abraham-owned outfit for the past three seasons of the Indian Super League. For Rowllin Borges, this will be the second season with the northeast club.

Goal.com reported that Rowllin Borges was retained on a two-year deal worth Rs 55 lakhs. There was no official confirmation from NeUFC about the financials.

The duo represented East Bengal in the I-League 2016-17 season. Rehenesh TP was underused by NorthEast United FC last season as the club handed most of the appearances to senior India-goalie Subrata Pal.

Borges played a big role for the club last season making 13 appearances manning the midfield.

Reports said that the Northeast club is expected to appoint former Portuguese coach João Carlos Pires de Deus.

Meanwhile, media reports said that FC Pune City secured the services of Uruguayan striker Emiliano Alfaro for the upcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season. Emiliano Alfaro played a major role in the NorthEast United FC last season.
