The Trinamool Congress on January 4 said that by holding a massive public event in Agartala, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pushed “thousands of lives into danger”.

The party alleged that PM Modi, with his public rally has turned Tripura into a “COVID manufacturing hub” where “no COVID protocol was followed”.

Prime Minister Modi addressed a public meeting at Swami Vivekananda Stadium in Agartala while inaugurating a new integrated terminal of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport and launching the education project Mission 100 and a doorstep service delivery scheme.

The TMC‘s Twitter handle also attacked Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb who was present at the function.

The party posted: “PM is pushing thousands of lives into danger! Turning Tripura into a COVID Manufacturing Hub, does the PM really think he is capable of protecting people? Shame on @narendramodi ji. Shame on @BjpBiplab for toying with peoples’ lives.”

TMC state convener Subal Bhowmik slammed the prime minister for dragging the public into danger by holding such rallies where no protocol of COVID-19 was followed.

The PM was “misguided with false information and fabricated facts” about the development and peoples’ sentiment by the chief minister for his personal gain and to remain in the chair, Bhowmik pointed out.

“There has been no mentionable development in Biplab Deb’s regime, other than large scale violence and vendetta politics perpetrated not only on the opposition supporters and leaders, but also on his own party leaders and MLAs who are pointing fingers at Deb’s misrule,” he said.

Earlier, in a separate tweet TMC said that the Biplab Deb government in Tripura has suspended classes to enable students to attend the PM’s programme. “HYPOCRISY of Mr @narendramodi EXPOSED! Will education and safety of students NEVER be a priority for Mr Modi? Classes remain suspended so that students can attend Modi Ji’s programme,” the party tweeted.
