After oath taking ceremony of Biplab Deb as the chief minister of Tripura and other ministers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed a gathering in Tripura. He thanked people of Tripura for the historic mandate and said that Tripura government would strive to fulfill aspirations of people in the state.

Modi remarked that 2018 Tripura elections would be always discussed by people in the history of India.

“I’m here to assure the people of Tripura- this BJP government is for people who voted for us and for those who did not vote for us. Elections are over and we have to look ahead. We will serve every citizen of Tripura”, he added.

The PM said that those in the opposition in Tripura today had been in power for long and they surely had a lot of experience. “Ours is a new and fresh team. In age too, our team is younger. They have ‘Anubhav’, we have ‘Umang’ and ‘Utsah’. We have to work together for the progress of Tripura”, he asserted.

Modi added that elections in early 2018 had renewed focus on the northeast. He said that it was a positive sign and more and more people across India must know about the region.

He said that good governance, ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ and people’s participation were the guiding principles of the BJP and the government would take every section of society together and work for Tripura. He also assured Centre’s full support to Tripura.
