Prime minister Narendra Modi took the virtual mode on March 1 to address the voters in Manipur as he campaigned for the second phase of elections in the state.
In the second and final phase of the election, voting will take place on March 5 in 22 assembly constituencies spread over 10 districts of Manipur.
Prime minister Narendra Modi on March 1 addressed the people of the 22 constituencies through virtual mode while Amit Shah who arrived in Imphal addressed a party election rally in Heirok AC of Thoubal district.
In his virtual address, the prime minister criticized the Congress while alleging the latter party for “encouraging separatism” in the state and other Northeast states.
He said that instead of focusing on the development of the Northeast states, the Congress, during its prolonged rule, encouraged separatism in the region.
“Now the people of the region realized the true face of the Congress and came to BJP that works for the development of the region,” PM Narendra Modi said.
“The Congress had not only destroyed the region with its divide and rule policy but also looted the states,” he alleged.
The prime minister reiterated that BJP promised to set up a medical institute of AIIMS standard and said that it will relieve the people of the state from spending a large amount of money in going outside the state for medical treatment.
He also spelled out various plans and projects which the BJP would like to implement if the party is voted to power again.
