Karimganj district police of Assam had seized 11 kg of ganja from a passenger bus and apprehended a person along Assam-Tripura border on February 1 night.

Acting on a tip-off, police had set up a naka checking at Churaibari area in Karimganj district along Assam-Tripura border and intercepted a passenger bus.

During search, the police team recovered 11 kg of ganja from the bus and apprehended a person identified as Lodhan Bhokta hailing from Jharkhand.

A police officer said that the bus was coming from Agartala in Tripura.

“During checking, we have found a red colour bag and also found the owner of the bag. During interrogation he revealed that some ganja were also kept hidden in the back of the bus. We found three more packets of ganja and apprehended the person,” the police officer said.
