Popular Assam actress-singer Bidisha Bezbaruah found hanging in Gurgaon

Popular Assam actress-singer Bidisha Bezbaruah was found hanging at her residence at Sector 43 in Gurugram on Monday night. The reason for her death was yet to be confirmed.

Police on Tuesday said that they have started investing the matter.

A resident of Guwahati’s Uzan Bazar area, Bidisha completed her graduation from Cotton College before getting a post graduate diploma in mass communication.

Bidisha was known for her acting in Xanto Xisto Histo Pashto Moha Dusto. Besides being a good actress and singer, she was also a graceful dancer and had performed at many national platforms.

After her marriage with a Gujarat-based man in 2016, she shifted to Mumbai before returning to New Delhi very recently.

On June 27, 2017, the multi-talented Bidisha had reprised the character of Runi for one last time at Rabindra Bhawan.

UPDATE:

The husband of Bidisha Bezbaruah has been booked for abatement of suicide, a police officer said in Gurgaon on Tuesday.

“As per the complaint filed by deceased relatives, the case has been filed against her husband under IPC’s Section 306 (abatement to suicide),” Gurugram police PRO Ravinder Kumar told news agency IANS.

He said that a case has been registered and several police teams have been probing the death of victim, whose body has been handed over to family members after a postmortem examination.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, East, Deepak Saharan is heading the probe, the PRO added.
