Priyanka’s Purple Pebble Pictures and another Mumbai based Easterly Entertainment have jointly produced the film which features several prominent names including Zerifa Wahid in the lead, ‘Bandit Queen’ famed Seema Biswas, another highly rated actor Bishnu Kharghoria, actor and musician Joy Kashyap and Sanjoy Kharghoria among others.

“We at Purple Pebble Pictures, along with our partners Easterly Entertainment, are committed to ensuring that the film gets the widest of audience across India and around the world. Even though this is a small-budget film, we intend to infuse good amount of resources for domestic, national and international promotions. And I will be personally involved in promoting this film,” said Priyanka.

Shooting for the film has already been completed in locations based in and around Kaziranga. ‘Bhoga Khidikee’ is a multi-layered story from the perspective of a female protagonist whose life is in turmoil due to the ideological and existential clash amongst the three men in her life – her father, husband and a stranger.

Shahnaab Alam of Easterly Entertainment who has produced films like ‘Lunchbox’ said that they are ready to put their strengths and influence together to make sure that ‘Bhoga Khirikee’ is well positioned around the world.

“I’m very glad to partner with Priyanka, as she really wishes to take Assam to the world through Assamese cinema. She has already shown her commitment towards promoting regional cinema, through the films she has produced in other regional languages,” said Alam.

He also added that the option of releasing the film simultaneously dubbed in Hindi for the national audience is also being actively explored.
