Rising People’s Party (RPP), a political party based in Nagaland, “reminded the Naga public of the fact that Nagaland BJP (as well as NDPP, NPF) is yet to publicly correct, let alone question or condemn, Union home minister Amit Shah’s fabricated statement in the Lok Sabha regarding the killing of 14 innocent Nagas at Oting on the December 4”.

The RPP, in a press statement, said on January 10 that as the “full scale of the massacre continues” to unfold, the continued silence of BJP Nagaland and its frontal organisations on Amit Shah’s condemnable statement has been absolutely deafening so far.

The RPP then said that it cannot help but contrast this episode with the recent uproar of BJP Nagaland and its mahila and yuva morcha cells against the Punjab government for the “security lapse” which led to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi being stranded for 15 minutes in Ferozepur, Punjab.

“The helter-skelter scenes of Nagaland BJP organisations and leaders trying to outdo each other in condemning the Channi government on Twitter, FB, and other social media platforms is perhaps part of the job, but what is un-digestible for the Naga public is that none of the same BJP organisations and leaders dared question their high command when Amit Shah poured lies in the Indian Parliament,” the RPP alleged.

The Nagaland-based political party then said that the “double standard” of BJP Nagaland has hurt the sentiments of every “patriotic Naga” and angered all right-thinking citizens as well.

“Perhaps, the BJP Nagaland thinks that ‘15 minutes is more important than 15 lives’ and it seems to be on track,” the RPP added.

It then said: “Sycophancy and ‘nautanki’ have been part and parcel of Indian politics but Nagas in BJP seem to have taken it to another level.”
