Security forces have apprehended two active NSCN(R) cadres in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh, a Defence spokesman said on June 20.
Based on a specific input, the troops of Assam Rifles, in a joint operation with Arunachal Pradesh Police, apprehended the two militants near Kangkho in Changlang district on June 19, said Lt Col P Khongsai.
The apprehended insurgents were identified as Thungsam Ngemu and Wangphik Khohoi. They are suspected to be involved in extortion activities for the faction in the district, he informed.
The Defence PRO said that one .22 pistol, one 7.65 mm pistol and seven live rounds of ammunition were recovered from the cadres.
The apprehended militants along with recovered stores were handed over to Changlang Police Station for further investigations, he added.
