One dead, 4 hurt in powerful blast near international border in Manipur

In a powerful bomb explosion near the international border in Manipur on Monday morning, one army personnel was martyred while at least four others were injured.

According to reports, a foreign-made remote-controlled bomb exploded at Lokchao along the Trans Asian Highway 102.

The personnel of the 165 Territorial Army were passing by when the bomb was detonated, an official said IANS. The injured were shifted to military hospital of 57 Mountain Division at Leimakhong. A helicopter was pressed into service to air-lift at least four of the injured personnel.

Police suspect there could be several casualties.
