Jailed former media personality, Indrani Mukerjea, has now claimed that her daughter Sheena Bora is apparently alive and is currently living in Kashmir.
Indrani Mukerjea is accused of killing her daughter Sheena Bora in 2012 and is in jail since August 2015.
In her letter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) director, Indrani Mukerjea said that she a woman at Byculla Womens’ Jail who told her that she had met her daughter in Kashmir. In her letter, Mukerjea urged the CBI to track her daughter Sheena Bora.
However, media reports on December 16 said that Mukerjea’s lawyer Sana R Khan has no details of what her client has actually written.
Though the CBI has not reacted, some reports have suggested what could be a fresh twist to the Sheena Bora murder case that erupted six-and-half years ago with the arrest of Mukerjeas’ driver Shyamvar Rai who had spilled the beans on Sheena Bora’s killing.
Subsequently, the Mumbai Police and CBI nabbed Mukerjea’s former husband Sanjeev Khanna, and her second husband and media tycoon Peter Mukerjea, while Rai was pardoned after he turned approver in the case in June 2016.
While Indrani Mukerjea’s bail pleas have been rejected by various courts, Peter Mukerjea was granted bail by a Special CBI Court in February 2020.
As later investigations revealed, Sheena was the daughter of Indrani Mukerjea from her earlier ‘marriage’. Indrani Mukerjea had introduced Sheena as her sister.
Reports said that Sheena was in a relationship with Peter Mukerjea’s son from his earlier marriage, and that was one of the reasons behind a fallout between Indrani and Sheena.
