Sonowal calls his Odisha CM for preservation of Lakshminath Bezbaroa’s residence
Making his intent clear for preservation of Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa’s heritage residence at Sambalpur in Odisha, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal vowed to preserve the heritage property at any cost as he requested his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik over phone.
He also sought Odisha CM’s intervention for taking a proactive step for the preservation of the residence which is intrinsically associated with the emotions of the people of Assam.
Responding to Sonowal’s request Naveen Patnaik assured to do the needful for the protection and preservation of Lakshminath Bezbaroa’s residence at Sambalpur.
It may be noted that in order to push forward the state government’s intent of preserving Lakshminath Bezbaroa’s Sambalpur residence, Sonowal asked the Assam cultural affairs minister Naba Kumar Doley and CM’s media adviser Hrishikesh Goswami to leave for Sambalpur on Saturday. The duo would also carry a letter written by the CM to Odisha to take preservation exercise to its logical conclusion.
Cultural affairs minister Naba Kumar Doley and media adviser to chief minister Hrishikesh Goswami would meet Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and hand him over Sonowal’s letter besides meeting Deputy Commissioner of Sambalpur and other organisations to push forward Assam Government’s efforts of preserving Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaroa’s residence there.
