Number of passengers and air traffic movements are showing a sharp rise at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, officials said on March 22.

In the past few days, there has been “noticeable” increase in the number of air travellers even as new flight services were being introduced.

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet has announced two new daily flights connecting Guwahati airport with New Delhi and Chennai.

SpiceJet is deploying a narrow-body Boeing aircraft with single class configuration offering 189 seats in economy class. It will be operated on all week days. The inward sector Flight SG-8915 departs Guwahati at 5.30 am to Delhi and SG-8169 departs Guwahati at 4:10 pm to Delhi every day.

On the other hand, SG-696 departs Guwahati at 5:10 pm to Chennai daily.
