Suspected militants of banned outfits NSCN (K) and ULFA (I) attacked a camp of Assam Rifles in Nagaland’s Mon district on Sunday morning.

There was no report of any casualty in the attack, but sources said that one Assam Rifles jawan escaped with a minor injury.

According to reports, a suspected militant group with heavy weapons had attacked the camp of 40 Assam Rifles Delta Company camp located at Chenloisho village in Mon district on Sunday morning at around 2 am.

Heavy rounds of bullets were exchanged from both sides.

Later, security personnel had recovered 75 empty cases of bullets, 40mm grenade cartridges from the spot.

In May, Two Assam Rifles jawans were martyred and four others injured after suspected NSCN-K militants ambushed on a convoy of the Assam Rifles troops in Mon district of Nagaland.
