Amid the rolling hills and verdant valleys of Arunachal Pradesh, chief minister Pema Khandu and his entourage of ministers, public leaders, and friends, have embarked on a journey that is giving us major travel goals!

Staying at a picturesque splendor of a natural paradise, nestled beside a shimmering river and surrounded by towering peaks – with snow visible at a distance and sun kissing through the tall trees, the team indulge in ‘beach’ football and volleyball, thereby making the sounds of their laughter and revelry fill the cool air. The set is just perfect as photographs of Pema Khandu’s visit to Dibang Valley in eastern Arunachal is taking internet by storm.

The beauty of Arunachal Pradesh has always been a well-kept secret, hidden away from the eyes of the world. But now, with the strengthening of the road infrastructure, the state is poised to take centre-stage, showcasing its breath-taking natural splendour to the world.

Along with its quest towards infrastructure development, the state is aiming to give a positive flip to tourism through these initiatives.

The batches of photographs capture the essence of the state and the beauty of its people. He showcased how the local Mishimi people weave bamboo to build houses, their fireplace, traditional handicraft – a glimpse to their glorious tribal culture.

Mishimi way of life 2 – The News Mill

In the later photo dumps, Khandu and his team could be seen taking a walk at the newly constructed amusement and children’s park at Anini. He also spoke about the all-weather roads in the district and met with local officials who were spearheading the construction of high altitude Dembuen-Bruni and the Mipi-Basam road projects, at Acheso.

Next, he highlighted the newly-built Chighu resort near Anini which hosted a number of fun activities for the team.

Khandu and team then took to rafting on Dri river – photographs of which mesmerised the netizens with the colours and the backdrop of the majestic Dibang Valley. After rafting, the team indulged in ‘beach football’.

“Football is fun when played on (a) sandy beach. CM’s team equalized with DC team. Tough game at Chighu resort,” Khandu wrote on his social media handles and he dumped photographs showcasing them having a thrilling outing at the ‘beach’.

The ’tough’ beach football match was followed by some volleyball and here, the CM’s team triumphed over the DC’s team!

Among others, CM Pema Khandu and team also took to cycling through the hilly roads.

“When in such a beautiful land, how could you miss exploring it. Tried pedaling on the mountain roads of paradise Dibang Valley. It was truly a rewarding experience,” he wrote on Facebook. The chief minister also flagged off the Mishmi Hills MTB Challenge Expedition 2023.

Before winding up the visit to Dibang Valley, chief minister Khandu also took a bike ride on the mountain roads of Dri valley. Among others, he in one of his posts also highlighted the Mawu Aando waterfall which is on way to Bruni border post.

The chief minister ended his visit to Dibang Valley by visiting the remote ITBP border post at Bruni and meeting the soldiers. “They keep our border safe. It’s my responsibility to take care of them. Have assured proper water/electricity supply and other amenities…Happy to meet the ITBP jawans coming from different parts of the country,” Khandu said.

CM Khandu returned from Dibang Valley in an open-air vehicle with the breathtaking beauty of the region on full display, as the majestic mountains rose up around them, their snow-capped summits piercing the sky.
