The Tangkhul Naga Football Centenary (TNFC) kicked off a ‘mass rally’ programme at Teinem village in Ukhrul district of Manipur as part of various promotional events, under the theme ‘Strong Northeast, Strong India’ on Sunday.

The Araang League is organising the Tangkhul Naga Football Centenary (TNFC) Football Tournament in Ukhrul, Manipur from December 5 to 18. The event is in commemoration of the Tangkhul players from 22nd Manipur Labour Corps who played for the 66th unit team in Blargies, France during WWI, 1917.

Sunday’s rally was attended by Teinem village populace along with the 12-member TNFC team from Ukhrul led by Rinshang Pheiray, District Swachh Consultant, Ukhrul. The rally was conducted with the declaration of pledge of support. The rally was sponsored by DRDA Ukhrul and SBM, Ukhrul.

The TNFC mass rally team leader Rinshang Pheiray, on behalf of his team and all at TNFC, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Teinem people for their support and grand success of the program.

Meanwhile, the marathon for centenary will run across the globe including US, South Korea, Singapore, Bangkok and China.  Besides, Run For Centenary will take place at various metropolitan cities of India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Goa and some states of the Northeast.

In Imphal, Running For Centenary will take place on November 18 from TBCI to Kangla. Finally, the marathon will conclude in Ukhrul town after running in 18 to 20 villages of Ukhrul district.
