This summer, Tezpur University is coming up with a host of new programmes and activities to engage school students of Assamese medium schools in co-curricular activities.

The university, jointly with Kaliabor sub-divisional administration, is going to organize a three-day summer camp for the students belonging to rural background schools of Kaliabor sub-division from July 14 to July 16 on the university campus, a statement by the university said.

The camp, which is expected to be attended by 150 students from Kaliabor sub-division, will include a workshop on introduction to ‘Robotics’, a talk on ‘developing scientific temper’ and ‘night sky viewing’ by the astronomy club.

The students will also learn basic yoga during the camp and visit the different departmental laboratories/sophisticated analytical instrumentation centre (saic)/central library/botanical garden to get acquainted with state of the art facilities the university provides. The students will also interact with the vice-chancellor of the university.

The camp will also give inputs to the students as to how to study at Tezpur University and introduce them to existing academic programmes and entrance examinations.
