Three persons have been arrested by Assam Police so far in connection with leakage of question paper of a written examination for recruitment of sub-inspectors in the state’s police force.
While one suspect has been apprehended by the CID, another two have been arrested by the Crime Branch of Guwahati Police, police sources said in Guwahati on September 23.
The CID has arrested one Hirakjyoti Barua and forwarded him to court on September 23.
The arrested person was a candidate in the examination and had collected the answer sheet and had forwarded it.
In connection with the same incident, the Crime Branch arrested two accused persons on September 23. They have been identified as Jugami Brahma and Kushal Das.
The recruitment examination was cancelled within 15 minutes of commencement on September 20 following the leakage of the question paper.
Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who holds the Home portfolio, had asked the director general of police to ensure speedy investigation and apprehend the culprits.
