A team of narcotics cell of Manipur’s Imphal West district had apprehended three persons, including a woman, with 25.279 kg of banned substance on August 7.
The arrested persons were identified as Jangminlen Vaiphei (35), Mangsat Haokip (49).
Based on intelligence inputs, a team of narcotics cell conducted frisking and checking at Tiddim road.
Around 3 am on August 7, the team had spotted a SUV which was coming from Churachandpur towards Imphal.
The police team stopped the vehicle for frisking and checking near Imphal airport.
During checking, the team recovered 25.279 kg of banned substance in 26 plastic packets which were found concealed inside the vehicle.
The police team arrested three persons and seized the items and vehicle. A case has been registered at Lamphel police station for further investigation.
