The special trains which were originating from Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) for the last month have been recording good occupancy rates, with many trains running at full occupancy.
Among the trains with full occupancy were 05955 Dibrugarh – Delhi Brahmaputra Mail special, 05483 Alipurduar Jn – Delhi Mahananda special, 05646 Guwahati – LTT special, 02501 Agartala – New Delhi Rajdhani special and 02407 New Jalpaiguri – Amritsar Karmabhumi special.
Moreover, 02423 Dibrugarh – New Delhi Rajdhani special was running on 98% occupancy, while 02378 New Alipurduar – Sealdah Padatik special was having occupancy of nearly 81%, an NFR release said on July 21.
“It is clear that passengers are now feeling confident to undertake rail travel in between various cities of the country in view of the safety measures taken by the railways. However, railways would like to request passengers to undertake rail travel only if it is absolutely essential, to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19,” the release added.
