Tripura chief minister Manik Saha on July 8 took the oath of office as a legislator of the state assembly.
He was administered oath by speaker Ratan Chakraborty where all the cabinet ministers and leaders of the state BJP were present.
However, chief secretary Kumar Alok and several top officials were significantly absent in the ceremony along with the MLAs and leaders of the opposition parties.
The officials who attended the programme said: “Chief secretary has a pre-scheduled meeting in Unokoti district and that is the reason he couldn’t manage the time, as the oath taking ceremony was decided only two days back.”
