Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb was diagnosed negative for COVID-19 but two of his family members were tested positive on August 3, Deb disclosed in an early morning social media post on August 4.
In a Facebook post, Deb said: “My COVID test results came negative. For next seven days, I will follow home quarantine and other guidelines. Also, I will work from home. I thank beloved people of Tripura for your wishes and prayers. The fight against COVID-19 will continue and together we shall win.”
However, reports said CM’s wife and daughter were tested positive but others including his mother and son were negative. Earlier, a security person was found positive. Recently, one of chief minister’s relative was also tested positive.
Since the viral load of both the affected persons of CM’s family is minimum and both of them are asymptomatic, they have been sent to home quarantine and entry in CM’s house has been restricted.
In a late-night post on August 3 Deb informed: “Two of my family members found COVID-19 positive though others in the family were tested negative. I have undergone COVID test result is yet to come. I am following self-isolation at my residence and all precautionary measures have been taken.”
