Tripura reports 2 fresh COVID-19 cases

Tripura on May 18 reported 2 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total tally in the state to 168.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb informed that the new cases were detected from 86th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Ambassa. He added that of the 467 samples tested on May 18, the two came positive.

“467 samples have been tested for #COVID19 and among them 2 persons found #POSITIVE from 86th-Bn BSF, Ambassa. All the positive patients are under proper medical care. I pray for their speedy recovery. We are committed to ensure your safety,” the chief minister tweeted.

On May 17, Deb informed that 85 persons were released from the hospitals after they recovered from the disease. The total number of active cases in Tripura now stands at 82.
