Two drowned at Khuga dam in Manipur

Two youths were drowned at Khuga dam in Churachandpur district of Manipur on January 8.

Police said that a major hunt was launched to recover the bodies of the two youths identified as Lammuansang and Lalminlian who fell into the dam area.

The bodies were not recovered till the filing of this report.

Khuga Dam impounds the Khuga river south of Churachandpur town. The multipurpose project supplies electricity and water. It was started in 1983 and resumed in 2002 after being at a standstill for a period of time.
