Two including army man die due to COVID-19 in Manipur

Two persons, including one Army personnel from Chandel, died in Manipur on August 28 due to COVID-19 and other co-morbid conditions.

The other patient was a female aged 40 years from Imphal East. They were under treatment at JNIMS in Imphal.

A health department report said that the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 climbed to 27 in the state.

In the past 24 hours, 81 persons from general population and 37 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID- 19 positive cases.

Officials said that the new patients were being shifted to COVID care facilities.

In the past 24 hours, 100 persons were discharged from the care centres and hospitals after they recovered from the viral infection.

Manipur now has reported 5843 COVID-19 cases out of which 1511 were from among Central Security Personnel.

The state now has 1759 active cases while the total number of recovered patients increased to 4057.
