Winners of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2021

In front of an audience from all across the north-eastern region, Vishal Brahma from Assam, P. Achevei from Manipur and Bhargab Gogoi from Assam were recently bestowed with the winning trophies of 11th Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2021 at the ITA Cultural Complex, Machkhowa.

Having completed 11 glorious years, Mega Mister North East is the biggest manhunt of Northeast India, conceptualized by fashion entrepreneur Abhijit Singha, produced by Mega Entertainment and marketed by Mega Activation. The auditions for the contest were conducted through online entries, and 42 men were selected basis the applications, video introductions and online interviews.

The selected contestants were called to Guwahati for a series of grooming and training sessions by Mega Entertainment, photo shoots and other activities, leading up to the Grand Finale of the contest. The pageant has been supported by Title Sponsor Garnier Men, Hospitality Partner Radisson Blu and Shopping Partner Sohum.

There were no runners-up titles in Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2021, and all three winners were awarded equally as winners of the manhunt, with equal prize packages and benefits. Speaking at the grand finale of the event, he said: “Mega Entertainment is delighted to introduce the three winners of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2021 – Vishal, Achevei and Bhargab. They have struggled their way to the top, managing to beat all the other contestants. We are so proud and excited to be a part of their incredible journey.”

Hailing from Senapati district of Manipur, 23-year-old P Achevei completed his BSc in agriculture from Dehradun. An aspiring model, Achevei has a vision to use his title and influence to showcase the tourism opportunities of northeast India to the rest of the world. He also deeply feels the need to promote his own state Manipur, which has so many well-known, as well as hidden and unexplored hotspots which have massive potential for tourism.

Bhargab Gogoi is a 22-year-old Mechanical Engineering student from Kokrajhar, Assam. He aspires to use his title and influence to create awareness about mental health, and the importance to be able to discuss openly about the same. He is keen to help create an environment where all social stigma related to age, sex, income, caste, ethnicity, or gender preferences, can be diminished, and everyone, no matter their background, can express their feelings openly.

Twenty Nine-year-old Vishal Brahma from Gossaingaon, Assam, is currently working in Mumbai as an actor and a model. Vishal wants to build a niche for himself in the film industry as an actor and a filmmaker. He wants to help discover the untapped talent and skills of northeast India and provide them exposure in the national film circuit. His long-term goal is to set up a film production facility, through which he can not only showcase the rich cultural heritage of northeast, but also help young and aspiring talents find opportunities to showcase their artistic skills without going out of the state.

The three winners were bestowed with gifts and vouchers worth approximately Rs 1 lakh from MN Gifting Creation, Fit 7 by MS Dhoni, Raju Reyaz Hair Salon, Sai Infrastructure, Sohum and Personal Accidental Insurance worth Rs 20 lakh each from Anant Creation Financial Services. Apart from that, they have also won a professional photoshoot by Prashant Brahma Photography, travel opportunities, professional representations and grooming by Mega Entertainment, and opportunities to participate in different socio-cultural activities across northeast. Besides, the winners also get the opportunity to walk the ramp in various regional and national shows.

The judges who sealed the fate of this year’s winner included: fashion & lifestyle promoter Monika Devi, advocate Manish Kr. Das, official designer of Mega Entertainment Dipika Devi, fashion designer Karan Thokchom, and Mega Mister North East 2019 Sonam Paul Tenzing Bhutia.

The pageant organizers were also judged for a series of sub-awards. Subham Jain won theSohum Mister Trendy subtitle, Biswajit Saikia won Radisson Blu Mister Hospitality, Puran Chettri won Garnier Men Look of The Year, Emon Jyoti Bhuyan won the Shouthout NE India Man on Mission subtitle, Chuckles Ch. Marak won the Pageant Times Mister Popular subtitle and Lobsang Tsundu Gengla was awarded the Fit 7 Mister Physique subtitle.
