Woman dies of COVID-19 in Siliguri

West Bengal on March 30 reported second death due to Coronavirus pandemic when a 44-year-old woman passed away at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital in Siliguri, news agency UNI reported.

The deceased hailed from Gorubathan in Kalimpong district and was diagnosed by NICED on Saturday night.

She was admitted on March 26 at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.

She went to Chennai on March 7 for her daughter’s treatment and on March 19 she along with her daughter returned from Chennai by flight.

She died early Monday morning at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).

She was also the first person from the entire North Bengal, who was infected with the pandemic.

Earlier on March 23, a 57-year-old man died because of COVID-19 at a private health facility in Kolkata.

West Bengal recorded 20 COVID-19 positive cases, including those with travel history abroad and also others who came in direct contact with patients.
