A 27-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide with her two children over a “family dispute” on October 1 by jumping in front of a train at Taltal near Pathsala in Barpeta district of Assam.
Police said that the woman identified as Minuwara Begum and her two children died on the spot.
The woman’s husband, Hanif Ali is a daily wager. Till filing of this report, Ali had not approached the police, said a police official.
The children were aged seven and two years.
Police said the incident appeared to be a case of suicide. The woman and her two minor daughters have succumbed to the injuries, said a police official. Further investigation is on.
The bodies were recovered from the railway tracks and have been sent for post-mortem, the official added.
