‘YouTube vs TikTok’ broke the internet on May 8 when content creator Ajey Nagar, who runs the popular YouTube channel CarryMinati, posted a roast on TikTok users.

His video has gone viral with more than 1.2 crore views within 24 hours on YouTube while # CarryMinati started trending on Twitter India.

In the 12-minute video Nagar specifically targeted a TikTok user who had earlier tried to roast YouTube content creators through a viral video.

The ‘feud’ between the users of the two video platforms started sometime back when YouTube content creators blamed the other side for creating cheap contents.

TikTok, a Chinese video sharing platform, has often been blamed for borderline sexual and vulgar content. TikTok was banned for a short duration in India after the Madras High Court observed that the app was encouraging pornography and other illicit content.

The ban was a major blow to TikTok’s Chinese owner ByteDance. The company said in a court filing the ban was resulting in a $500,000 daily loss, and was putting more than 250 jobs at risk.

While the comments and discussions on CarryMinati’s video keeps increasing – nearly 3.5 lakh till the filing of this report, for the TikTok users, in Nagar’s words: Har Vivek Oberoi ke lie, ek Salman Khan hota hai…
