With an ambitious plan to promote the beauty and tourism prospects of Assam, a 6-member team of Guwahati-based ‘Rhinos Motorcycle Club’ commenced a voyage towards Sikkim’s Gurudongma from Guwahati’s Nehru Stadium on Tuesday morning.

Supported by Assam Government’s State Level Advisory Committee for Student and Youth Welfare and powered by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, the 7-day bike expedition was flagged off by Lakshya Konwar, Member Secretary of SLAC Student and Youth Welfare and Ritubaran Sarmah, Vice-Chairman of Amtron.

On their way from Guwahati to Gurudongma, the team will promote youth welfare and adventure sports, and invite guests to Assam. In this duration, the team will promote the campaign with ‘meet-the-press’ sessions, road shows, extempore visits at educational institutions, and distribution of information leaflets of Assam Tourism in towns like Alipurduar, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Gangtok, Lachen etc.

Previously, the team has travelled far and wide promoting various important campaigns. Last year’s Himalayan bike expedition to the world’s highest motorable road Khardung-La at Ladakh, promoted the message of a pollution-free nature. The campaign was conducted at West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
