As many as 46 militants and the commander-in-chief of proscribed Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) laid down their arms in Assam’s Dima Hasao district on November 13.
The militants, led by Mushrang who is the C-in-C of the outfit, laid down their arms in presence of Hiren Nath, ADGP (special branch) of Assam Police during an arms-laying ceremonial function held at Khepre area, 95-km from Dima Hasao district headquarter Haflong.
Debolal Garlosa, chief executive member of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) and other senior police officials were also present in the programme.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the move and said: “Giving impetus to process of peace in Assam as per vision of Adarniya PM Sri @narendramodi & HM Sri @AmitShah, Mushrang, C-in-C of #DNLA has come overground today at Khepre, 95 km from Haflong, Dima Hasao with 46 cadres, in presence of Sri Debolal Garlosa, CEM & other officials.”

The Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) is a two-year-old militant group based in Assam that announced its launch in April 2019, claiming it was “committed to revamp the national struggle and fight for the liberation of a sovereign, independent Dimasa nation”.
