Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on May 7 visited COVID Care Centres set up at Sarusajai Sports Complex and Royal Global University in Guwahati and inspected the facilities put up there.
During his visit, the chief minister also interacted with COVID-19 positive patients recuperating their infection at the centres.
While talking to the positive patients, Sonowal told them that the government is all prepared to provide best possible care. He also made it clear that in view of the spikes in positive cases, government has also ramped up its infrastructure to make sure that nobody is deprived of getting treatment.
Chief minister Sonowal took stock of the infrastructure and the treatment facilities and asked the authorities to keep oxygen facilities ready along with other ancillaries.
Later, talking to reporters, Sonowal said that in order to give people succour from COVID-19 pandemic, the Assam government has initiated several steps. The district administrations in all districts of the state have been asked to gear up to tackle the situation.
