A snapshot from the film

Axone, a Hindi language film on the Northeast youth living in Delhi, will be released in Netflix on June 12. The much talked after film is directed by Nicholas Kharkongor.

Axone follows a day in the life of a group of Northeast youth in Delhi through a wedding, a feast, a landlord-tenant clash — and in them all, the quintessential Northeast experience in the big city.

Axone features Sayani Gupta, Lin Laishram, Tenzin Dalha, Lanuakum, Vinay Pathak, Rohan Joshi, and others. Adil Hussain also appears in one of the scenes of the film.

Axone is a fermented soyabean condiment that is cooked with various items, like pork and fish among others. Axone has a strong smell and popular among the Northeast people, especially in Nagaland.

Prior to this, the film was screened at several festivals in India and abroad.

Edit: We regret getting the name of the director wrong in our earlier version of this story. The error was corrected soon after the spelling mistake was brought to our notice.
