Agartala will soon be connected with Deoghar in Jharkhand by a weekly train service.
The direct weekly express train service between Agartala and Deoghar is scheduled to be flagged off by railway minister Piyush Goyal on July 6 through video conference from Rail Bhawan.
With the start of the train service, this will be the sixth inter-state train from the Tripura capital. Agartala is already serviced by Rajdhani express and Humsafar express trains.
The Agartala-Deoghar express train will run through Guwahati, Rangiya, New Bongaigaon and New Jalpaiguri.
The train will run every Saturday at 2200 hrs from Agartala and reach Deoghar at 1300 hrs on Monday. The total distance of 1473 kilometres will be covered in 39 hours. The regular train service between the destinations will start from July 14, Northeast Railway sources said.
