Four more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya the past 24 hours taking the total tally as of now to 59 in Meghalaya, a health official said on July 3.
The latest detection is of a returnee who had recently arrived in Tura, the district headquarters of West Garo Hills from New Delhi, Health and Family Welfare Minister Alexander Laloo Hek was quoted as saying by news agency UNI.
He said the patient is asymptomatic and admitted at the Corona Care Centre in Tura.
Hek said that the active COVID-19 cases have gone up to 15 with three persons having tested positive for the virus in Ri-Bhoi district on July 1.
He also informed that contact tracing is going on to identify the people whom the patients came into contact with before they were tested positive for COVID-19.
With these latest detection, Meghalaya has registered 59 positive cases, which includes 15 active cases, 43 recoveries and one death.
