Four people were killed in a landslide in the Boragaon area in Guwahati in the wee hours on June 14 after continuous rainfall.
Police said the deceased were labourers engaged in construction works and they are believed to be from Dhubri and from Kokrajhar.
“In the initial investigation, we come to know that three labourers were from Dhubri and one was from Kokrajhar. We need to see more to know under what circumstances, they had to die?” a police officer present at the spot told reporters.
The bodies were recovered in the morning by the personnel of SDRF with the help of police and local administration.
Meanwhile, with the continuous rainfall, most of the major roads in Guwahati have been submerged in flood waters leading to a severe crisis for its residents.
