Assam COVID-19 tally at 7492 as Guwahati under total lockdown

The number total COVID-19 cases in Assam went up to 7492 as 327 new cases were registered in the state on June 28 even as Guwahati was placed under total lockdown.

Of the new cases, 195 were detected in Guwahati in the last 24 hours, state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed through Twitter late in the evening.

On the recovery front, the frontline medics were able to save 274 more lives, pushing the total recoveries till now to 5088. However, the death toll also went up to 11 with one more fatality.

The Kamrup Metro district, under which Guwahati comes, has been placed under total lockdown for next 14 days to check spread of COVID-19 cases.
