Guwahati frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) facilitated the process of providing mobile ATM to the residents living along Indo-Bangladesh border to tide over who are facing cash crunch due to the lockdown.
The shortage of cash has become a common issue amid the COVID-19 induced lockdown surfacing nationwide. BSF Guwahati approached the district administration of district Coochbehar (WB) to provide Mobile ATM service to those villagers who are residing ahead of Indo-Bangladesh Border fence and facing a cash crunch for the past few weeks,” a press statement said.
On the intervention of administration banks arranged a Mobile ATM service with the support of BSF to Border village Jaridharla-2, Police station Dinhata, in Coochbehar district located ahead of Indo-Bangladesh Border Fence to resolve the cash crunch of border population, the statement added.
Around 20 persons of border village availed the service of mobile ATM. All the persons who availed the services their bank account were linked with Aadhar account.
During availing the mobile ATM service BSF personnel also briefed the border villagers about preventing measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.
