Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma tests positive for COVID-19

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on December 11 tested positive for COVID-19.

Sangma, in a social media post on December 11, informed that he has tested positive for the viral infection. He added that he is experiencing mild symptoms.

“I have tested positive for #Covid_19. I am under home isolation and experiencing mild symptoms. I request all those who came in contact with me in the past 5 days to kindly keep a watch on their health, and if necessary, get tested. Stay safe,” Conrad Sangma tweeted.

 

On December 10, as many as 57 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from Meghalaya taking the total number of cases detected in the state to 12,586. The state reported 123 deaths due to complication related to COVID-19.

As many as 11,883 patients recovered from the viral infection in the Northeast state.

Director of Health Services (MI), Aman War had informed on December 10 that of the 2,61,625 persons tested for COVID-19, 2,49,039 tested negative for the virus, even as 157 persons were in institutional quarantine and 349 in-home isolation in different places across the state as on December 10, War said.
