Justice Ajay Lamba on Monday has been sworn in as chief justice of Gauhati High Court.
Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi administered him the oath of office at a function in presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on October 7.
Mukhi administered Justice Lamba the oath of office under Article 219 of the Constitution of India.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by judges of Gauhati High Court, members from legal fraternity, Assam Chief Secretary Alok Kumar, DGP Kuladhar Saikia and other senior officials of the state government.
