Team Khalsa Centre Northeast, known for their efforts to find new ways to help the needy, achieved another milestone in their efforts to serve the humanity on November 10 by setting up a water point at the Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute.
The centre installed four water coolers and a geyser which will provide 550 litres of filtered cold and hot water every hour to the needy round the clock.
AC Kataki, director at Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, while inaugurating the water point lauded the continued efforts being made by the entire team of Khalsa Centre Northeast in serving the humanity – be it continuing the weekly langar for third year where high-quality food is provided to everyone including the patients or organizing blood donation camps to help the cancer patients or providing oxygen concentrators to large population in Assam free of charge.
Kataki said that the water point will help patients and their attendants along with residents of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute in a big way as it has fulfilled a big need of the people who had to buy water. He called upon the users to keep it clean and maintain its beauty.
Capt PP Singh, chairperson at Khalsa Centre Northeast, while welcoming the guests, stated that during their almost three-year-long association with Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, their effort has been to help the suffering cancer patients in every possible way.
Capt PP Singh thanked the management of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute for giving them the opportunity to serve the needy and also thanked the donors who have always been generous towards Khalsa Centre projects, which included Sanjeev Garodia and Binay Garodia, Charanjit Kaur Hanspal, Harvinder Kaur and Amarpal Singh etc. for donating these water coolers and helping in the construction of the water point.
