The lone COVID-19 positive patient of Nagaland, who was undergoing treatment in Guwahati, was discharged from hospital on May 1 after testing negative for the infection.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma bid the patient farewell from the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati.

He shall be availing quarantine facility for next 14 days in an Assam government provided arrangement for necessary observation by doctors.

The patient had arrived at the GMCH from Dimapur, Nagaland, on April 12 and was tested positive for COVID-19.

Sarma said his health was in a bad condition when he was admitted, but has made full recovery now.
