Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on January 3 launched various horticulture products produced by different entrepreneurs of the state at a simple function held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Imphal.

The products consisted of Chak-hao Macaroni, pasta, vermicelli, noodles and instant ready to eat premix products of M/s Modern Foods (Sana Brand) with the assistance from MOVCDNER, Manipur and baby food products of M/s Henna Food Products with the assistance from MIDH, Manipur.

Speaking on the occasion, N Biren Singh said that the state government had been putting in every effort to make the state self-reliant in various sectors and assured that all possible financial assistance would be provided to startups and entrepreneurs to achieve self-reliance.

He continued that various dried fruit’s packets which were widely seen earlier in the state had now been substituted with indigenously produced items and this had been made possible with the contribution of different start-ups operating in the state.

The chief minister mentioned that production of different value-added fruit products had already been started in hill areas of Manipur since 2018 under Van Dhan Vikas Karyakram of TRIFED and informed that about 41,000 women are currently employed forming around 400 self-help groups under the scheme.

He further added that different value-added food products had also been exported to other states.
