Nagaland chief secretary Temjen Toy passes away

Nagaland chief secretary Temjen Toy died on January 28 after a brief illness.

Toy breathed his last at his residence in Kohima. He was 57 and survived by his wife and four children.

The 1989 batch IAS officer was battling for long with cancer. He had taken charge as the chief secretary of Nagaland in March 2018.
His last tweet on October 30 said: “Healing in process.”

Leaders condole Temjen Toy’s death

Governor of Nagaland RN Ravi expressed grief and shock over at the untimely demise of Temjen Toy and said that the state has lost an able administrator and one of the finest human beings.

“Extremely sad and shocked to know that Shri @temjentoy is no more with us. We lost an able administrator and one of the finest human being! May his soul rest in peace. May God give strength to family to bear with this devastating tragedy,” the Raj Bhavan in Kohima tweeted.

Condoling the death of Temjen Toy, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio tweeted: “I am extremely saddened at the passing away of @temjentoy, Chief Secretary of Nagaland. He was a humble, upright and dedicated government servant. His death is a huge loss for the Govt. of Nagaland & for the Nagas as a whole. Heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul RIP.”

 

Nagaland opposition leader TR Zeliang paying tributes tweeted: “Deeply grieved to learn the untimely demise of Temjen Toy IAS, Chief Secretary of Nagaland. A humble & hardworking officer who served sincerely. A jolly gentleman, it was always a pleasure working together. Huge loss for the people of Nagaland. My deepest condolences.”
