Bollywood singer from Assam Angaraag Mahanta popularly known as Papon has come up with the theme of river conservation, one of the burning issues of the country, in his next work.
In the new musical awareness series ‘Express Yourself’ by Mx Player, Papon has lent his voice for a song based on River Conservation.
The lyrics goes like this…Waise hi rehna/waise hi behna/waadiyo se/bastiyo se/mat khafa ho naa/hain tere hi dum se sab kayam/waise hi behna.
Talking about this initiative, Papon said, “River conservation is the need of the hour. Whether it means appealing to the government that comes to power or doing your own bit to bring about change – our natural resources need to be helped if we want to continue living on this planet”.
Apart from Papon, the first four episodes of ‘Express Yourself’ features Sonu Nigam, Monica Dogra and Swanand Kirkire. These episodes feature hard hitting subjects sung by the melodious Sonu Nigam – whose episode is based on women safety, the vivacious Monica Dogra who tackles freedom of speech, river conservation that is highlighted by the sensational Papon while music maestro Swanand Kirkire explores the widespread problem of inflation.
When the entire nation having the election fever, the prime objective of this series is to aware voters about the real issues of the country or the society, said Papon.
“The Political parties or leaders would definitely try to divert these things but as a responsible citizen of the country, everyone should know our real issues. I’m delighted to be a part of this initiative,” said Papon.
