President Ram Nath Kovind arrives in Assam

President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Guwahati on May 3 on a three-day visit to the Northeast region where he will address a public event in Tamulpur on May 4 before leaving for Mizoram.

Kovind will be the first president of the country to address a conference of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha, a regional language literacy meet. He will addess the 61st annual conference of the sabha at Tamulpur on May 4.

The president accompanied by Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other dignitaries will attend the mega event of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha on May 4.

Next day, Kovind will fly to Aizawl to address the 16th convocation of the Mizoram University.

The three-day conference of Bodo Sahitya Sabha began on May 2. The Assam government has sanctioned special casual leave to the state government employees who are participating in the conference being held at Kachubari in Tamulpur in the Bodoland Territorial Region bordering Bhutan and West Bengal.

Bodo Sahitya Sabha president Toren C Boro said thousands of delegates attended the conference from different parts of the world so far.
