Assam Rifles nabs 2 NSCN-K cadres in Nagaland

Assam Rifles personnel apprehended two NSCN- Khaplang cadres from Tuli sub-division of Mokokchung district in Nagaland on April 28.

According to a statement issued by Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) on April 30, the 44 Assam Rifles, based on specific information regarding presence of underground cadres launched an operation in general area Kanching village on April 28.

After thorough search of the area, the party apprehended two suspected NSCN (K) cadres identified as one self styled ‘major’, aged 50 years, resident of Kanching village and one ‘lieutenant’ Amung, aged 30 yrs, resident of Thanga village.

Both apprehended were subsequently handed over to Tuli police station, for further investigation, the Assam Rifles statement added.
