Team Australia got a shock after their victory against India at Barsapara stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday. A stone thrown by miscreants ripped throw the window of Australian team bus on their way back to hotel after the match.

Aron Finch uploaded a picture with broken window in his tweeter handle. “Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way back to the hotel!!” read the tweet which was retweeted by David Warner and liked by Glen Maxwell.

The second T20 international of the ongoing series was won by the Aussies by 8 wickets. This was the debut international match at the newly built cricket ground at Barsapara.

Indian all rounder Ravindra Jadeja also retweeted Finch’s post saying it was shocking. “Come On People, this is not how you treat (your) guests,” Jadeja said in the tweeter.

Meanwhile, ACA president and Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who is also the president of All India Badminton Federation tweeted seeking apology for the incident.

“People of Assam never endorse such behaviour. We will punish the guilty,” Sarma tweeted.

On Tuesday, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal formally inaugurated the stadium. However, the arrangement for the match left many irked.

Spectators and journalists had to face a horrible time during the match.

“There was problem in issuing accreditation for the match. The accreditation cards were provided at the last moment. There was no clear instruction from the local cricket body. This is unfortunate,” said a local sports journalist.

On the match day, the facility was so poor and on top of that no officials of ACA were available to address the issues. Journalists including the foreign press had a tough time covering the match.

“The wifi of the press box was not working. I heard the ACA people are not replying the phone calls. This is very unfortunate,” said a journalist who covered the match.

The spectators too had a tough time to witness the match.
